🌊 The Experience: A journey between art and meditation in the ancient Japanese technique of “floating ink” (Suminagashi), led by Antonella Ielpo at the Atelier degli Artigianelli.
🖌️ What will you do: You will use the traditional 'four calligrapher's treasures' to create abstract drawings on water and imprint them on paper, experiencing a relaxing and unique creative process.
🏠 Details: Duration of 2 hours in Italian (optional translator), with the possibility of taking home all the decorated cards made.
The Suminagashi Workshop, conducted by Antonella Ielpo At theAtelier degli Artigianelli, offers a unique experience that combines art, meditation and manual skills.
The deadline Suminagashi means “floating ink” and indicates a refined Japanese technique, born more than a thousand years ago, that allows you to create abstract and elegant patterns on the surface of the water, then imprinted on the paper.
During the workshop, participants:
- They will discover the history and dissemination of Suminagashi in the East and in the West.
- They will learn to Prepare the ink Dissolving the Dismiss on the slate stone (Suzuri).
- They will achieve abstract drawings on water, which will be gently transferred to sheets of paper (Kami).
- They will use the traditional “four calligrapher's treasures”: Suzuri (stone), Dismiss (ink), Hude (brush) and Kami (card).
